I worked as a CORE damage inspector for 8 years. I traveled across the country inspecting homes after disasters and helping survivors begin to rebuild their lives. I have been a hero to some families, a shoulder to cry on for others, and sometimes the person delivering difficult news.

My deployments took me to nearly every state, including Puerto Rico, but not Hawaii or a few Midwestern states. I saw thousands of homes and met countless applicants facing some of the hardest days of their lives.

I loved the work but eventually chose a career with less travel. This website shares the most important things I wish every applicant knew before the inspector arrives. The tips come straight from real experience on the job.
